What this piece has been

Cut in 2016 with its method published, and cut again in 2024 with nothing recorded. A Forest Datum ran two regimes side by side: a deck of standardised cells on five supports, each worked as a single piece, and only the standardised half is on record. The project's only peer-reviewed account describes the deck and mentions neither the supports, their charring, nor any reclaimed timber. A Forest Datum is described as designed for disassembly and reuse; the supports fall outside that description, and if it is dismantled they will emerge as five worked pieces with no record of the work.
